Girosole House on a Lake, Aurora New York
The house is a long captured space in the landscape, folding space into it. Sited on a bluff overlooking a lake towards the west, the house slices two views in the landscape. A primary view is cut from the west and a second series of views accessible through the more private spaces in the house are framed to the south. A large blade like roof projects long shadows in the summer to cover the glass façade with shadow in the summer. The house is provided with a number of different skinsto mediate the space of the deck and expand or contract the perimeter to accommodate various climatic conditions.
